It’s broadcast in a hobby language for a few thousand people who cling onto the past glory days of coal mining.

I've never watched S4C, and I was born and bred in Wales. And why is it, people who speak Welsh, feel the need to talk MUCH LOUDER than people who don't? It's not my fault I don't speak my country's native language, I was brought up in an English speaking family, and sent to English speaking schools. It certainly doesn't make me inferior, as some welsh speakers like to make us feel. I'm still proud of my heritage and I don't feel any less Welsh just because I don't speak the lingo. Good for you if you do speak it, but there really is no need to preach to people who don't. We get by perfectly well in life without it!

Its all greek to me............ rather an expensive thing to do eh & would it be possible if Wales vote for independance?? i.e. paid for it all themselves, ................and would they want to? where do i complain about the lack of TV stations solely for us Cockerknees?? cos my rhyming slang is under represented on the Beeb, and just like Welsh, it is a real living language, which MUST be preserved................... Oh, knees up gorgon brown knees up gorgon brown...................thats the last one of Mandys parties he goes to without the trouble

Whatever the merits of this article, and the argument it makes, it is unfortunate that the paper has chosen to illustrate its point with Sali Mali and Igam Ogam, two shows for the under 4s, an age group that is not measured by BARB ratings.
