LOOKING to change careers or improve your prospects? MY Sun wants to hear from you.

What would you consider to be your dream job?

Are there obstacles in the way of making your employment plans a reality, such as a lack of qualifications, or poor self-confidence?

Have you considered becoming self-employed? If so, what kind of business would you run?

After completing 20 years in the Army, all I ever dreamt of was running a little pub in the country.  When I got out I invested all my money into a house and a little pub.  I didn't make a fortune, but I was making a living.

Then thanks to the Government with their increases in prices/Taxes/Intrest charges/No smoking ban/Increased licencing fees for music, entertainment, fruit machines and Sky Sport TV and rent increases.  I, like many others, went to the wall.

My dreams went to being nightmares thanks to the Government.

Sorry to here that geezer.....just goes to show what you end up with after serving Queen and country for 20 years and putting your faith and  hard earned cash into an age old British tradition.

I'll buy the daily truth as long as Dr E isnt a columnist, unless you call it the daily lie and only sell only to the scientific community.

I had my own business until ill health made me stop. It was a dream job, because I travelled the world, working and living in some very exotic countries, to which I was able bring my family for amazing holidays.

Today, I am retired. However, I keep myself mentally sharp through inventions! Most of 'em are just on paper and not much more. However, some have resulted in major developments (unfortunately I have not made any money from them!). One, which I am not at liberty to discuss, is attributed, by some, as the cause for an imminent major readjustment of our Air Traffic Control Patterns!

Another is at the core of a new worldwide digital radio system.

The one, which, unexpectedly, has hit the ground at the gallop, is a new attractor for anglers! My latest Angling idea is catching fish (namely Cod) where ordinary techniques are ineffective. I have several dozen prototypes out there under test and the reports are very encouraging!

I have just completed a development, for test, which will provide a stiffer test of principle. I am about to dispatch them to various volunteers.

If, as expected, my theories are correct, then I may have a simple product, which will be useful to line fishermen all over the world.......... a market to be calculated in the hundreds of millions!

Since the product is cheap (under 50p per unit) Maw is after me sourcing a manufacturer and starting an on-line business, selling 'em across the world. Since I already have a target manufacturer, I expect I shall do just that from the comfort of my settee at home.

A target market of 200 million is not unreasonable. The problem is that the idea is neither patentable and is not unique enough to be registered as a design. Therefore a fortune is not a likely outcome. However it will be fun!

(200 million ~ approx. £77,000,000 mark up!)
