Don't think he's anywhere near PL quality, the only people happy to see him in a Utd shirt will be the opposition strikers .......

This rumor is in quite a few papers, which doesn't make it any more true, but certainly an interesting thought.

We need him now though....not in the new year when we are expecting some of our regulars back. It may well be worth a short term contract....like the Larsson deal a couple of years back. We have no idea how long Rio is out for, and Evans ankle is a real problem too.

He's a free agent and has plenty of experience. The question is if we have to wait until the Jan transfer window...and also what kind of shape he is in.

There's little to lose in signing him on a free...and potentially a lot to gain. Why not.

We do of course have Chester and Cathcart, who I think are both out on loan until Jan. They are both centerbacks and could be called back.

Sol's seriously deluded if he thinks he's got a chance at playing for United!!

He'd be lucky to get a game at Newcastle United these days

He has a lot of experience and is a tough player and good man-to-man player. Would not be a bad signing at all if the rumours has some truth in them..

Hmmmm, not so sure about this one TBH,whilst undoubtedly a fabulous defender in his day, reminds me a little of when laurent blanc joined us at 35years old to help out short term after stam left,we finished 3rd that season and lost 9 games in all

Remember the first 5 losses spelling out B-L-A-N-C? (bolton, liverpool, arsenal, newcastle, chelsea)embarrassed
